Free-Hand Tutorial: Thousand Sons Icon

Here's another free-hand tutorial. There are many people being asking me how to paint the Thousand Sons Legion's logo and also get the consistency. Well, its really hard for me to explain it. Anyway, I will make it as simple as possible.

A) Master Copy!!
First of all, you need to get 1 logo painted. This first logo will be your master copy.

Picture below shows the step-by-step:

Here I've painted the step-by-step.
1) Just simply paint a circle.
2) Paint the dragon head.
3) Paint the outer horns.
4) Paint the inner horns.
5) Use the background color to touch up.

*Don't bother whether the circle is not round! You can see clearly that I've painted 1 dragon and scanned the image once in every step. Now is the dragon round enough?

You get the idea already. Go and practice in a piece of paper before paint on the shoulder pad. You can use other color you prefer.

B) Consistency. To get the consistency on all shoulder pads, you just need to follow the master copy. Just use blu-tac to stick 2 shoulder pads (master copy shoulder pad & empty shoulder pad) side-by-side and then start painting.

There goes the tutorial. Isn't it simple? Don't make yourselves feel that it is too hard. Practice make perfect. Good luck!!!
